It is awesome to spend time with your friends and have fun together. It doesn’t matter whether you’re inside or outside, there are plenty of fun, inexpensive things to do.
Hanging Out Inside
If you don’t feel into hanging out outside, or the weather is less than ideal, there are plenty of fun ways to pass the time indoors. No matter what you two decide to do, you’re bound to have a good time together.
Binge Watch Horror Films
Plan a fun movie day, complete with pajamas, popcorn, and candy. To set the right creepy mood, hit the lights and close the blinds. Each of you picks two horror movies to watch back-to-back. See how long you both last before you’re ready to throw on Friends reruns. Make this a weekly or monthly tradition.
Spend some time making a list of what you’d both like to try if you’re interested in trying new cuisine. Plan a weekly dinner where you both prepare one authentic dish from the country you have chosen. Document your favorite and least favorite meals with photos.
Make Your Own Movie
If you two are feeling extra creative, write a movie script together. Set up your phone or a camera and try to shoot the whole thing in one take. It’s a great opportunity to practice your improv and let your inner comedian shine.
Re-watch the movie together later and try not to buckle over laughing. Who knows? You might have a good eye for film making.
YouTube Laughing Contest
To do this, each of you creates a compilation of a few YouTube videos you think are the funniest. To add your favorite videos to the queue, click the add button and name the playlist. Continue adding a few more videos, and then it’s go time. Share them with each other to see who bursts out laughing first.
Every now and then, everyone needs a little down time. Take a hot bath with lemon slices and apply homemade masks to your face and feet. You can make the mask by following these steps:
- Mix two teaspoons of oatmeal with honey to make the mask.
- The bowl should be filled with warm water until a paste forms.
- Apply for 10 minutes after mixing.
- With a clean washcloth, rinse off the product.
Enjoy some healthy smoothies to end your day. Mix two cups of fresh or frozen fruit with one cup of milk or a milk alternative to make an easy smoothie. Blend with a few teaspoons of honey for sweetness.
It can be frustrating to go through your closet and find nothing to wear. Take a look at your closet and select a few pieces you no longer wear but are still cute. Your friend can do the same and swap items with you. The fashion show is optional.
Go through your fridge and pick out four to five seemingly non-cohesive items to prepare. Be sure to select at least one protein. Together, come up with a unique recipe and begin cooking. Enjoy your one-of-a-kind meal together. If the recipe is good, be sure to write it down so you can make it again.
There’s nothing like spending time outside on a nice day. Being outside is good for the mind and body and makes for time well spent together, especially when you try these ideas.
Pack a few items that don’t need to be refrigerated like apples, carrot sticks, and peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. Don’t forget some ice cold water and a small blanket or towel.
Head out for a hike that’s a bit longer than you’re used to and scope out a nice spot to have a picnic break when you’ve gone about halfway. Spend time chatting or listening to music together as you take in the beautiful views.
Head to a Free Concert
Discover is a great site that helps people search for free or discount concerts, museums, and other performances. Peruse their site and pick a fun event to head to together. Just type your city into the search button and start hunting down fun concerts to go to.
Many of them take place outside, so pack a warm sweater, some snacks, and a blanket to sit on. Usually there are some unique vendors selling food too.
Create a Backyard Oasis
If you don’t feel like heading out further than your backyard, take some time to make it a relaxing oasis to hang out in. Use your phone or computer to make a fun playlist and throw some blankets or towels on the grass.
Try practicing some relaxing yoga moves together to give your bodies a good stretch. Soak up the sun if it’s nice out and bring some magazines to flip through. Put out some snacks to munch on too.
Enjoy Your Time Together
